Overview
Bored with her stuffy village life, teenager Susanne decides to run away to the bright lights Frankfurt, while her boyfriend does his military. Caught in the swamp of drugs, prostitution, violence and human trafficking, Susanne experiences the dark side of the big city.

Marc, an unexperienced medical doctor from Germany arrives at the Hospital Universitario del Valle in Cali, Colombia for his internship and soon finds himself in-between a raging gang war in Siloé, a Cali barrio. During a visit to the US consulate in Frankfurt, the young son of former Special Forces soldier Sara suddenly disappears without a trace. And not only that: no one seems to remember him ever entering the building. Sara is asked to leave the consulate. But she knows that the German authorities have no access to the consulate. If she leaves now, she may never be allowed to enter the premises again. In her desperate search for her child, Sara disappears into the labyrinth of the consulate, unaware that the noose of a dangerous intrigue is tightening around her neck.

A brutal attack on the homeless Lennard in downtown Frankfurt links the fate of three women: Irina, a 28-year-old nurse, has witnessed the violence. The young Sam lives on the street. She was protected by Lennard after she was beaten up in search of food. The single mother Anne is from the clouds when her 18-year-old son Rio is led away by the police. He is accused of involvement in the violence against Lennard. This is hard to understand for Anne; she struggles to get her son to talk.
